Episode 025: Amanda & Cat Talk Embryo Adoption

Cat and Amanda go solo on today’s episode. Amanda shares the details of her personal journey to her son, Benjamin, through embryo adoption.

Amanda first heard of embryo adoption/donation when her sister saw a segment on the Today Show. Within a few weeks, Amanda joined a Facebook group called, Embryo Adoption and Donation Support Group, and was contacted by a family looking to donate their extra embryos that same week. After an in-depth questionnaire and a Zoom call, the family told Amanda and her husband that they were chosen! From there, Amanda quickly prepped for her IVF transfer of their newly adopted embryos. We talk about how this part of the process works since they decided to transfer their adopted embryo at the clinic it originated in. By March 2021, Amanda was pregnant with their son.
