Episode 011: Life After IVF with Sarah Johnson

Sarah Johnson, known for openly sharing her fertility journey on Instagram and TikTok @sarahrogersjohnson, chats with us about her daunting experience with reoccurent pregnancy loss, diminished ovarian reserve, medicated cycles, IVF, and her decision to discontinue IVF treatment after multiple failures.

Sarah’s journey begins after a year of trying with no success. After running some test with her OB & REI, they identified that she was not ovulating on her own. This kicks off their first of seven medicated cycles with Clomid. On their first medicated cycle, they become pregnant. Of course, Sarah took this as great news that it would be a quick fix to their infertility problems.

Unfortunately, Sarah goes on to experience multiple miscarriages from these medicated cycles. She speaks openly through her missed miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy that follows.

From here, Sarah has now gone through a tubal removal due to her ectopic pregnancy and is now diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve. The DOR diagnosis led them into starting IVF. After two egg retrievals, one chemical pregnancy, and a failed IVF cycle, Sarah and her husband Cody say enough is enough.

Tune in to hear how they transitioned away from IVF and ended up with their rainbow baby through a spontaneous pregnancy.
